Flower in the Sun

^

When she looks at me, the sky falls apart

and the only thing that I can see is heaven

And when she smiles at me, even my broken heart,

starts to heal, that’s when I feel the shift in time

When the world around condenses to a moment

When time stops still and every will I’ve ever had has gone

Only then do i perceive the inner beauty of my exotic flower in the sun

Of my exotic flower in the sun

^

When she lies with me, there”s lightning in the air,

electricity sparks and splits my soul

When she kisses me, my flesh absorbs the earth,

and the mystery of intimacy’s mine

When every lover’s touch from all eternity

Caresses me, and blesses me with happiness and then

Do I discover my true love is so much more than an exotic flower in the sun

Than an exotic flower in the sun

^

When she turns her back, there’s no more heat and light,

like staring at the dark side of the moon

When she walks away, a vacuum fills the void,

replacing hope and joy with nothingness

Her lack of presence, crushes me beneath the weight

Of opportunities that were both unfulfilled and gone

And now I search in shadows, through the darkness

For my exotic flower in the sun
